Augustinus Bader and Dua Lipa Unveil Exciting New Skin Care Brand
The skincare industry is buzzing with the news of a groundbreaking collaboration between renowned skincare brand Augustinus Bader and the iconic entertainer Dua Lipa. The result? A new skincare line named Dua, offering a trio of products that are set to revolutionize your skincare routine. With prices ranging from $40 to $80, these products are not just affordable but also packed with innovative ingredients.
Despite recent sales challenges in the luxury skincare market, Augustinus Bader's co-founder and CEO, Charles Rosier, remains optimistic. He predicts a 25% growth in sales this year, attributing this success to the brand's focus on technology. Rosier emphasizes, "We always considered Augustinus Bader as a technology platform. Using that technology for one brand was never the point."
The collaboration came about naturally, as Rosier explains, "We have worked with Victoria Beckham and Sofia Coppola, which started with organic dialogues. Dua performed at the UNICEF gala in Saint Barth’s a few years ago, and we organized treatments for her and her family. That was when we first had contact."
Three years later, the Dua skincare line introduces TFC5, a unique ingredient from Augustinus Bader, specifically designed for individuals with less skin damage than their traditional clientele. This expansion into a younger demographic is a strategic move, as Rosier notes, "She [Dua Lipa] inspires a lot of people, and that age bracket is very complementary to our existing customer. This was an opportunity to talk to another community and engage with them."
This isn't Dua Lipa's first beauty venture. She is the face of YSL Beauté's Libre, the second-bestselling fragrance globally. The collaboration with Augustinus Bader aligns with the brand's mission to simplify skincare routines, as Rosier explains, "We had this agreement that we were trying to simplify down to a highly efficient routine. We focused on three products and there is no fourth product in the pipe."
Rosier draws a parallel between this collaboration and Augustinus Bader's existing work with Victoria Beckham, stating, "We're bringing the best of both worlds." Dua Lipa's positive energy, dynamic lifestyle, and creative vision for the brand's packaging and product texture are seamlessly integrated with Augustinus Bader's scientific expertise.
The brand has no immediate plans to expand into retail, prioritizing its direct-to-consumer model. Rosier clarifies, "It’s a direct-to-consumer brand with its own ecosystem. It’s her brand and her identity, powered by our technology. But people will discover Augustinus Bader science and our ethos, so maybe they buy a mask or gift across our products."
This exciting collaboration between Augustinus Bader and Dua Lipa promises to bring innovative skincare solutions to a broader audience, combining the brand's technological prowess with the entertainer's inspiring influence.
